Sinead Cruise joined Reuters as a European Real Estate Correspondent in May 2007 after a 4-year stint as Deputy Finance Editor at British real estate trade magazine Property Week. She holds an MA (Oxon) degree in Modern History from Oxford University and was named International Building Press Financial Journalist of the Year in November 2007.
Daryl Loo has been Reuters Real Estate correspondent based in London since November 2008, covering European property. Before that, he was Reuters' Correspondent in Singapore, where he mainly wrote about Asian real estate, the region's aviation sector, and equities. He joined Reuters in 2007 after 5 years' experience in financial journalism, including with Singapore newspaper The Straits Times, AFX-News, and The Edge Singapore business weekly. Daryl holds a B.Sc. in Journalism from Boston's Emerson College, and a master's degree in Contemporary China Studies from Singapore's Nanyang Technological University.
Jason Benham joined Reuters in Dubai in May 2008 and started as Gulf real estate correspondent in February 2009. Before Dubai, Jason spent some time working on a communications and public outreach project for the UK’s Department for International Development in Sudan. He holds a BA degree in Arabic with Middle Eastern and Islamic studies from Durham University.
Andrew Macdonald has been a Reuters Real Estate correspondent/subeditor since June 2009, having joined Thomson Reuters in 2006. Before that, he was mergers and acquisitions editor at London-based Shares magazine, and an equities/infrastructure/property correspondent for New Zealand Press Association. He is currently completing a PhD in operations management at University of London, and has previously studied accountancy, commercial law and human resources. He has written widely on British military history, including having his first book on the subject - On My Way to the Somme - published by HarperCollins in 2005.
Eriko jointed Reuters in 1999 in Tokyo. She covered technology and other corporate news as well as stock markets, moving to covering real estate four years ago. Since 2007 Eriko has been based in Sydney. Prior to Reuters, Eriko worked for the Far Eastern Economic Review, an Asian business magazine, and the Bridge News. She holds a B.A in International Relations from the Tsuda College in Tokyo and a M.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism.
Lee Chyen Yee has been the Asia Real Estate Correspondent based in Hong Kong since November 2009. Before her current role, she spent 5 years in Taipei, where she was Reuters' deputy bureau chief and treasury correspondent. Prior to that, she was in the Reuters Shanghai bureau for another 5 years covering the burgeoning financial markets in China. Chyen Yee holds a masters in journalism from Columbia University in New York and a bachelor of science degree from the National University of Singapore.
Ilaina Jonas has been Reuters U.S. real estate correspondent for the past four years. During that time, she earned a master's degree in real estate finance from New York University's Real Estate Institute. She joined Reuters 10 years ago and has covered the software industry and bankruptcy court before covering real estate. Ilaina has been a journalist for 20 years and has worked for several newspapers including: the Detroit Free-Press, the Albany Times, Union, the Chicago Tribune, the Meriden Record-Journal and the Peoria Journal Star. Ilaina holds a B.A. in English and Economics from the State University of New York at Albany and a M.S. in Journalism from Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism. She has won numerous Associated Press Awards and scholarships. She also is getting to be one mean skier.
Robert is Global Head of Real Estate Markets at Thomson Reuters and is based in Hong Kong. In 2006, Robert started www.reutersrealestate.com – as a new venture within Reuters with the aim to create a dedicated global information service for real estate investment professionals.
Jan is Business Development Manager for Real Estate Markets at Thomson Reuters. His responsibilities involve managing the operations of Reuters Real Estate and developing a complete Thomson Reuters proposition tailored for real estate investment community through core Thomson Reuters products and www.reutersrealestate.com. Jan is based in London.
Chris is the head of business development for Reuters Real Estate and is based in New York City. Chris has substantial experience in public equity surveillance and capital markets consulting for media companies such as Time Warner, Disney, and News Corp. and he previously worked on several REIT projects with the Financial Team and is familiar with the industry and its business model.
Rami joined Thomson Reuters in May 2009, to develop the company’s global real estate offering in the Middle East and North Africa region. He brings considerable experience of real estate markets in the GCC, Levant and North Africa, having worked for three years as the Head of Research for the MENA at Colliers International, based in Dubai. In this role, he authored numerous reports and studies on MENA real estate markets, frequently presenting market analysis to investors and industry stakeholders, liaising with the media, and building strategic information partnerships with third parties, including investment banks and law firms. Prior to this, Rami worked in the UK as an Asset Management Analyst for one of Europe’s largest property developers and landowners, for over three years.
